Laura holds a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice, and a Bachelor of International Studies (Flinders University) and a Graduate Certificate in Business (Public Sector Management) (Queensland University of Technology).
Laura is a respected legal professional with eighteen years post admission experience predominately in the public service. Laura has extensive knowledge and expertise in regulatory practice, administrative decision making, and compliance and enforcement with practical and on the ground experience in operational issues such as safety and risk management.
Laura was General Counsel at the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator for nine years leading the legal team nationally, including prosecution of offences under the Rail Safety National Law. Laura is now the General Manager, Compliance for the Department for Energy and Mining regulating mining in South Australia. Laura is also Director on the State-Owned Generators Leasing Co Pty Ltd.
