NQF Snapshot - South Australia
Every quarter, the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) releases a snapshot on how the sector is tracking against the National Quality Framework (NQF), including quality ratings awarded to services approved under the framework.
Data for South Australia at 1 July 2024 reveals:
- 1249 (95%) services in South Australia have a quality rating
- quality area 3 has the most Meeting ratings, with 67% of services meeting National Quality Standarads (NQS)
- quality areas 1, 2 and 7 have the most Working Towards ratings, with 11% of services Working Towards NQS in all 3 areas.
The snapshot from quarter 1 identified several quality areas with elements most frequently assessed as 'not met' by South Australian services, and these remain consistent in quarter 2. These elements are:
- assessment and planning cycle (1.3.1)
- program learning opportunities (1.1.3)
- critical reflection (1.3.2)
- management systems (7.1.2)
- development of professionals (7.2.3)
- health practices and procedures (2.1.2)
- supervision (2.2.1).
To support improvements in these areas, the ESB has been providing information and guidance via our monthly newsletter.
