New resources for students with disability
The Australian Government Department of Education has worked with Children and Young People with Disability Australia (CYDA) to publish a series of resources for students with disabilities and their parents and caregivers. The content was created in consultation with disability organisations and education authorities across Australia.
The five new resources supplement the existing catalogue of information and fact sheets to help parents and caregivers support their children. They also ensure that parents and caregivers understand their rights under the Disability Standards for Education 2005.
The resources come under four topic areas:
- know your rights
- resources for parents and caregivers
- resources for students
- resources about advocacy and raising concerns.
Each resource is available in English and Auslan, with versions available in Easy Read and 8 languages.
Access these resources on the Australian Government Department of Education website.
