Australian standards for cots are changing from 19 January 2026

Two new mandatory standards for infant sleep products were introduced on 18 July 2024. The standards aim to reduce the risk of death and injury from products that babies do or may fall asleep in. To support businesses to prepare to meet the new requirements, a transition period has been in place. From 19 January 2026 businesses must comply with these standards.
