ACCC product recall – magnetic games
30 June 2026
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is investigating products containing small high-powered magnets. Under Australian law, there is a permanent ban on separable or loose magnets with a flux index greater than 50 (kG)2 mm2 that are used in certain toys, games and puzzles.
The ACCC recently sent take down requests to Amazon, eBay, Kogan and Fruugo for listing products for sale that include the banned magnets. More information can be found here.
Several magnetic games containing the magnets have been recalled. Images, detailed product descriptions and advice on what to do if you have purchased these products are available on the product safety site here.
