Review of school registration for 2022
In 2022 we will conduct a validation review of registration for a total of 40 government and non-government schools. Schools are selected based on their registration:
- new schools in their first 12 to 18 months of operation
- schools with a significant change to registration in the previous 12 months
- a randomised selection of schools to ensure the total is proportionate across sectors, school types and locations.
Next year we will also require over 200 schools to conduct a self-review and then verify that the Standards for registration and review of registration of schools in South Australia are met.
We are currently finalising these selections and will inform school principals by the end of November.
School registration is ongoing. However, the Regulations require a review of registration to occur at least once every five years.
In 2018, the Education Standards Board began reviews of school registration for government and non-government schools in South Australia. The review process takes nine months and is based on a contemporary regulatory approach in which we seek to confirm that the Standards are being met.
