We received this information from the Department for Education on Monday 19 July.
The Premier has announced new level 4 restrictions will come into effect from midnight tonight.
Below are some interim communications to assist you while the directions are being finalised. We’ll provide an update as soon as the updated directions are released.
We’ll provide some further information that you can share with parents tomorrow.
COVID-Safe check in
It’s vital that all staff, contractors and visitors, including parents, COVID-SAfe check in whenever entering one of our buildings.
This information allows SA Health contact tracers to act rapidly any time, day or night, and to directly notify you if you have been in close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
Your sites QR code should be clearly displayed at all entrances to buildings and a hard copy sign in sheet should also be readily available.
People entering schools, preschools, or children’s centres
Access to our schools, preschools and children’s centres should be limited to staff, students and essential services.
Essential services include professionals who support the learning and wellbeing of students and staff, such as allied health professionals.
Construction, facilities and maintenance workers should also be allowed on site.
Please encourage parents not to enter classrooms or school buildings.
Singing and dancing
Singing and dancing lessons can continue in all schools and preschools.
All extra-curricular and interschool sport competitions, training and trials must be postponed until further notice.
Physical education classes can continue as part of the curriculum.
School and preschool events
All school and preschool events involving parents/carers/guests (such as concerts and musicals) planned for week 1 must be postponed.
Intrastate travel – camps and excursions
To minimise travel, all school excursions and camps planned for week 1 of this this term should be postponed.
All interstate camps/travel for work is not recommended at present, noting there are many border restrictions in place across all states and territories making travel high risk.
Future travel and interstate camps for the remainder of term 3 should also be reviewed to ensure COVID Safe planning is in place, and local alternatives and contingencies have been considered.
More advice on travel can be found on EDi.
Playgroups can continue.
It’s important we remain prepared to adapt to any further restrictions. Please continue to:
- take your device home every night
